Easter in Skaneatles (Pronounced: 'Skinny-Atlas')

This past Easter, the three of us and Tricia headed up to visit Betsey and Jay in upstate New York.

As you can see, Jay did his best Mr. Rogers impersonation for us and Betsey went for the "really excited" face.

Eden welcomed Tristan with many kisses and hugs.

And Tristan reciprocated the welcome with finger biting and drooling.

Tristan and Eden were very happy the whole weekend.

When they were sleeping, we went to the basement and brought out Hero Quest and battled skeleton's, mummy's and the Witch Lord! And thanks to Jay's mastery as the dungeon master we somehow managed to win. :)

Regardless, Julia threatened him with a knife and forced him to eat a pineapple, WHOLE!

And what happened to Tristan while Jay ate his pineapple? As you can see, he tried to escape into the toy box to live in the land of toys forever.

Meanwhile, Andy hunted down Eden...

and flipped her around as only "Daddy Jungle Gym" can.

And as the days wound down,

We were all very happy to spend another Easter together.

So until next time, farewell.

Happy Boy.

This video is from the first day we ventured into the world of other foods. Here he is immediately after he ate bananas. Boy, was he happy!

St. Patrick's Day Surprises

St. Patrick's Day has since passed but we have photos to document how Tristan surprised us for the holiday.

First, he suddenly decided to sit on his own!
In this sitting position, scratching at the carpet can provide hours of entertainment (or at least, minutes.)
Second, he decided to test his hand at dentistry.
Here is is inspecting his mommy's molars.
Hooray! No cavities Mommy!!!

First Food!

This past Sunday, after dad had returned from a long 3 1/2 week tour, it was time for Tristan to make his first attempt at the wide world of other edibles.

As you can see the event began very well as he took his first taste of mashes bananas...Mmmm...

The eating continued and he had many thoughts like...

..."What the heck is this squishy stuff?"...
...and...

..."I just wanted to eat the spoon and I got all this other stuff instead, dang it."...
...and...

..."Okay, seriously, just let me bite on the spoon already!"

In the end, we think he got more banana on his face and hands (and on mom and dad) than in his mouth, but there was valiant effort put forth by all!

Until next time, it's time to bathe.
