Thanksgiving #2: Gillingham

Tristan prepares for another big day.
And heads up to Gillingham without delay.

His Fazia delights.

The turkey he bites.

And without a peep,

Falls asleep in a heap.

Thanksgiving # 1 : Herroville

Tristan's dad's from Herroville, the place where Herro's grow.

He meets his cousin Aramea and says a sweet "hello."

His cousin, Owen, is just 2 weeks older.

His aunt, Kristin, makes a great baby holder.

All the cousins gather near,

And celebrate Thanksgiving cheer.

Urban Baby

It is often pondered what it is that an Urban Baby does. I hope this will clear up any confusion.

Urban babies go to book signings.
This is for the book "Velma Gratch and the Way Cool Butterfly" by Alan Madison.

Urban babies go to Macy's.
Here you will see Tristan and his Mommy visiting the ball that will fall in Times Square at New Year's, displayed in Macy's.

Urban babies watch the New York Marathon.

He was thrilled as to watch every runner go by and looks forward to the day that he will be able to run in the marathon with his dad.

And at the end of the day, urban babies head home.

Tristan's Ode to Sleeping

Tristan sleeps on Uncle Aaron
and by Uncle Erik
And by Auntie Tricia
AND (when you can get them to lie down) in between his Fazia and Mamae.
But who does Tristan love to sleep by the best?
His mommy, Julia, who, goodness knows, needs the rest.

Tristan Meets His Cousins

Tristan is now 6 weeks old and growing faster than ever! Julia and Tristan spent the past few weeks in Wisconsin as Andy was on tour to Louisiana, Georgia, Oregon, Washington and California. During their time in Wisconsin, Tristan was able to see his grandparents again and to meet his uncles, aunts, and his little cousins.

Julia with Owen, Jess with Aramae, and Kristin with Tristan.

We decided that this would be a good time for an all out battle royale in the crib that Andy's mom made. Initially we thought it would be used for sleeping, but it works much better as a battle ring.
Tristan Basil Herro (Sept. 20, 2007) and Owen Graham McCarty (Sept. 4th, 2007)

After much breathing, arm moving and leg action, they decided that they weren't yet fully capable of controlling their own bodies, none the less fighting, and decided to be friends.

The Adventures Begin

As the third week of life draws to a close for our little peanut, we can see him changing before our eyes and his. He is full of curiosity and demands to stay awake, even though his body can't quite comply! And then there are his smiles. They just capture your heart! You can't help but kiss the boy!

He also loves his shower time and cuddles up into his daddy and mommy whenever he can! It is amazing how much personality he has at even these beginning weeks.

The last two weeks brought both Grandparents, Mamae and Fazia Gilling, and Grandpa and Grandma Herro. And what a busy boy he was!!!! Little Tristan traveled the great subway, traversed Central Park, saw wild animals at the Bronx Zoo, studied his history at the Natural History Museum, rode the Staten Island Ferry to ogle the Statue of Liberty, stared up the facade of the Empire State Building, walked around Harlem, went shopping at various establishments, attended a soccer game, and had his picture taken countless times.

Can you imagine a little guy more active?! And he takes it all in stride, being the lovable, laidback boy he is. How can you not love the little guy? We are the luckiest!
